The Lantern Festival:
The lanterns range in size from 1’ to 290’ long by 1’ to 60’ high with sizes determined by subject matter. The overriding theme of the Atlanta Chinese Lantern Festival will be the first ever of Zheng He by the Royal Lantern Makers. For 75 continuous evenings, the Atlanta Chinese Lantern Festival combines Christmas, Valentines Day, Thanksgiving, Theme Park, Education, foreign tours, myth, fact, philosophy, and, beliefs, with Art and one’s absolute best behavior. Seminars: These events are joint efforts between bi-national interest. They will grow in boundary from local, to regional, national, and finally, international. Their purpose is to start growing a substantial Southeastern Center for Chinese interest in intellectual, business, tourism, and investment endeavors, and, government to government relations. The initial seminars will take place through the collaboration of 18 local and 32 Chinese colleges, universities, institutes, and advanced high schools. Literature: These events will take place as collaborative library exhibitions of substance in Chinese and Oriental studies. The libraries shall invite authors to speak and exhibit artifacts on the topics of history, invention, technology, philosophy, politics, and, literature that is related to China’s contributions to civilization. These programs initiate the steps toward correcting world history that includes China’s first “Opening to the outside world.” This inclusion, recognized by Western historians for centuries, was always left to future generations to correct. Exhibitions: A substantial exhibition of Zheng He’s Treasure Ships will be shown for the duration of the Lantern Festival and perhaps beyond. An appropriate site has not been selected though the exhibition is completed and will be loaned (rented) by the governments of Singapore and PR China. This exhibition is a destination event for America’s, Africa, the Caribbean, and Europe. These ships are known by Western historians and remembered native peoples on many continents for centuries. Public knowledge of these visits in Western societies has been, in general, eliminated by those who approve public education’s informational content. See: HK, Sichuan, Zigong, Cheng-du, Shantou
Education: We believe the ties established between local and Chinese institutions of higher learning during the Atlanta Chinese Lantern Festival shall lead to extensive exchanges of students, scholars, and foster research and development opportunities. Simultaneously, the general public of both countries will be intensely educated without formality. The Atlanta Chinese Lantern Festival brings to China, the recognition of their history, culture, beliefs, and philosophies in connection, not in opposition to or without their collaborative efforts becoming subject to outside suppositional or assumptive beliefs.
